I don’t really post a lot of my art on this blog, and maybe by posting some it’ll encourage me to draw more now that I’ve gotten out of school. I’ve been really digging on old architecture illustrations and Victorian house right now.

And my mommy would bring me things.
I mean I’d marathon it, but:
I don’t know if I have the heart to watch the rest of season five. (Which means that I’ll probably end up marthoning it tomorrow because I won’t be able to concrete on anything else).

Some of the projects from my metals class this last semester. Ring, Coin (front and back). Apparently I was extra nerdy! Click here for more info. Hopefully once I’m no longer broke I can make some more rings!
* as I’m a photographer I’m slightly biased but I still don’t think people realize.
It seems these days everyone on my facebook feed is getting married and complaining about how expensive it is. One of the included is wedding photography. They all want someone that’s good and cheap. I can tell you that isn’t possible. Yeah, you can find someone “decent and cheap” (like if you ask your Uncle Ernie to do it for free), but you aren’t going to find many professionals doing it for under $400.
What you need to understand is that we don’t just show up and take some pictures and hand you a disk. It’s a job like any other, and the work doesn’t stop after we shoot. We spend hours stressing ourselves out about getting the right moment (which is especially hard when you don’t have a second shooter and your doing it all on your own), just go home later and spend days and days sorting through the thosands of pictures we took, and putting every single one in black and white and adding those “artsy” features you have to have like selective coloring, and vignetting (which, trust me, really NEVER LOOKS GOOD ON ANYTHING), etc
The average wedding photographer charges two grand, and some even charge up to $10,000. So $400? That is super cheap for any photographer. You do have to realize that this is how we make our money, and no-one in their right mind wants to do that job for free. And don’t you want your wedding pictures to look nice? Isn’t that the reason you spend all the time making everything look prefect? Do you really want your Uncle Ernie, or someone who has barely taken a photography class or has no experience in the field to do it? Feel, free, but I will block you if I have to look at your hideous pictures.
(I’m probably just particular annoyed at the one person who didn’t hire me because I was “too expensive” when I told them, “around 400, but I’m willing to negotiate.” Dude, I was being seriously cheap! ugh.).
Thank you HIMYM. Thank you.

Graduation on Saturday say what?!
Watch Supernatural while breaking in new sketchbook or study for art history test…… Supernatural and sketching obviously.

I can promise you that I will be stressing out about tonight and I will not get any sleep. I’m pretty sure that I’m probably fine and can get it done tomorrow in class, but I’m a paranoid parrot.
